A list of my favorite couples on television
Now that Josh and Donna finally did it on The West Wing, Lilly called Kite on Cold Case, and Logan and Veronica danced on Veronica Mars, it's time to review TV's hottest couples.
Hawkeye & Hotlips, Mulder & Scully, Ross & Rachel... "Will they or won't they" is a staple in primetime television. Why does it take so long for primetime couples to figure it out? Because TV coupledom is a double edged sword. We want to see our favorite couples get together, but when they do, ratings plummet. Part of the fun is watching to see what - if anything - will happen between the two. Once they're happy together, it's ...well, boring.
Nevertheless, here are my top TV couples I want to see hook up:
Michael & Sara (Prison Break): His trips to the infirmary are all a part of his plan to bust out of there, but he likes Sara a lot more than he thought he would. She hates and loves the fact that this complex hottie inmate flirts with her.
Booth & Bones(Bones): She sees everything in black and white, and has trouble relating to people. He is laid back, and a people-person. They are both devoted to their careers and finding justice, and have a combustible chemistry. And they know it - which scares them both.
Logan & Veronica (Veronica Mars): She's a Nancy Drew bad-ass and he's the "resident psychotic jackass" with a soft spot for his women. They were together for a short time at the end of Season 1, proving that they're much more fun to watch when they're fighting. Nevertheless, watching these two deny their attraction is part of the fun of this show.
Sawyer & Kate (Lost): Both are ashamed of their pasts, and both are softies underneath. She hates him; he adores only her. They have a palpable chemistry. Do it already!!! But then go back to fighting and witty banter. I don't really want to see either of them happy.
Peluso & Finn (Conviction): He's the office womanizer; she's the office optimist. Despite their apparent differences, they make very good friends. They have an easy, relaxed chemistry, with a passion for each other that is on simmer for now. But it comes to a slow boil with lines like Peluso's at the end of the pilot: "You are quintessentially beautiful." Sounds like more than friends to me.
Kite & Lilly (Cold Case): She has intimacy issues, and he let her have them, while gently leading her into a relationship. This was one of the sweetest relationships on television in CCs second season, until Josh Hopkins (Kite) got a pilot and left the show. The writers did viewers a disservice by making Kite inexplicably, all-of-a-sudden, impatient at Lilly's timidity. His patience was his charm. But there is hope after April 9's episode.
House and Cuddy (House): Come on! Am I the only one who thinks those two want each other?
