Scott: Nice ep - Kristen Bell wears a t-shirt and boxers very well, they actually seem to be going somewhere with this Keith and Harmony thing (she's up to something, mark my words), and the larger mystery is becoming more compelling and complex - at this point, I think I might actually prefer it to the bus crash. I also liked the way they completely embraced V's judgmental control freak bitch side here, though it likely bodes ill for your boy Logan in the coming weeks.
A few quibbles:
I really hate the way they're always explaining away the absence of key cast members: Weevil's visiting his cousin, Wallace is off studying, Mac's doing whatever - knowing the truth (that they can't afford a full roster) makes it feel very patronizing. Best to say nothing at all.
The whole time Logan is confessing I'm thinking, man, if this were Duncan, he'd already have been forgiven. And did the Tijuana thing feel pulled out of thin air or what?
I know her judgment was impaired and all, but what was V thinking when she realized she'd been drugged and headed for the parking garage?! Good thing the writers had Logan happening by for no particular reason...
Karen: I know! V is a total bitch to Logan. And yeah, the Tijuana thing not only seemed pulled out of thin air, but WHAT? What exactly is the big deal here? He went to Mexico and ran away from a motel that Mercer (hottie hottie hottie!) burnt down? So what? V is mad because he didn’t make sure that people were ok? I doubt I would have either if I’ just burnt down a Mexican motel. I just don’t see why Logan was hiding this. There must be more there. Otherwise, this feels like a plot device
Yes, why in the hell did V go to the parking garage of all places? And also did you notice Logan's lack of intensity when he found her? He saw her, and then kinda sauntered over to her like he expected no less than to see V sleeping on the pavement.
Who did they explain way in this ep? Wallace in Palm Springs? I figured they might have done that so that Logan would arrive at the door, Piz would tell him that, and L would be jealous. Because they don’t usually explain why Wallace has disappeared. They ( quite rightly) assume that we don’t give a shit.
Mac, on the other hand, I miss. Where is she supposed to be? Grandma’s? Isn’t she missing a lot of classes? Let’s put her together with Mercer! (Hottie hottie hottie!) She deserves it.
My biggest quibble is Jason Dohring’s ADD. My god, that’s distracting. Either keep the shirt over the shoulder, hold it, or put it on. Do NOT twirl it, toss it, swing it, etc. It was like a whole separate character in that scene.
Scott: Two questions:
1. Is the smarmy criminology T.A. way too obvious a culprit?
2. Is it possible that only some of the girls were raped, and some just had their heads shaves as some sort of experiment in copycat crime and inferred the rest?
Karen: I think Smarmy TA is a red herring. But doesn’t he look like he’s s wearing a wig? Do you think that might mean something?
An experiment? Interesting. But, I read on AskAusiello that the rapes will be solved, but result in a murder. And the second mystery of the season will be the murder. So, what do you make of that? Perhaps SmarmyTA gets murdered? Or V’s mentor Prof? Perhaps Ed Begley Jr?
