I'm really disapointed in
Stand Off. I really wanted to like this show, and it's just...bad. I like Ron Livingston, but I know he can do better than standing around looking tense and talking on the phone. I don't mind Rosemarie DeWitt as much as I did in the beginning, when I thought she was just grossly miscast. I still wonder what Fox was thinking, but she's kind of growing on me. Although I'm still not sure I can get past the beak. (Yes, I'm a b-tch.) But this show is just boring. Truly disapointing.
I'm also concerned about
House. Not that I think it's gone down in quality; indeed I think it's just as good as last year. (Note that I didn't say it was
better.) No, my concerns lies in my knowledge that the writers are going to "explore" his relationship with Dr. Cameron, who I just plain can't stand. She's an insipid, pathetic little girl. With a bad haircut this season. No way would House be interested in this weak little nothing. I see him flirting with Cuddy, who is clearly a much better match. Can you even imagine House getting down with
Cameron? No way. She'd flinch and refuse to take her clothes off. I don't buy it for a second.
Now the good news:
Bones is really starting to hit its stride. Emily Deschanel is growing into the role, and making Bones more complex. Last season her social skills were so limited that she came across as mildly retarded. Autistic at the very least. This season she's a little more real. And David Boreanaz not only looks fantastic, but he's made Booth one of the most charming, lovable men on television.
