Did Rescue Me go too far?

Is rape on TV ever ok?

So much talk about the Rescue Me spousal rape scene. Did the FX show go too far?

Personally, while it was certainly upsetting, I think the question of whether the show went too far shouldn't be up for debate. To me, thats censorship. Did I want to see it? No. Did I cringe a bit? Yes. Do I think anyone should be reprimanded for it? Actually, no. FX is a cable show - granted, not pay cable - but if you're watching the show, you kinda know what you're getting into.

I think it made the character of Tommy Gavin that much more unlikeable, but to be honest, I never liked him much anyway.
