A schedule and highlights of The CW May Sweeps and season/series finales.

How many times have I said that I love being on The CW’s press release list? I recently received a list of the upcoming May sweeps and finale highlights, of which I will of course share with you:

Monday, May 7th is a one-hour Girlfriends: Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross) gets a long-awaited marriage proposal. Wednesday May 9th is a special episode of One Tree Hill that was shot on location n Honey Grove, Texas. Thursday, May 10th is part one of a Supernatural two-parter, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan guest starring! Papa Winchester, back from the dead? Hey, if Denny can come back on Grey’s Anatomy

Sunday May 13th is the second series finale of 7th Heaven. The longest-running family drama in television history bids us farewell as Eric (Stephen Collins) and Annie (Catherine Hicks) decide to pack up and travel America in their new RV. If the ratings to this one are as good as the original season finale will The CW renew the show yet again?

May 14th brings the season finales of Everybody Hates Chris (Kelsey Grammer directs); All of Us, where Neesee (LisaRaye McCoy) and Robert (Duane Martin) make a decision about a second baby that could alter their relationship; and a one-hour The Game where Melanie (Tia Mowry) and Derwin (Pooch Hall) come to a crossroads in their relationship.

The second week of sweeps is the season finale on May 15th of Gilmore Girls: Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) come to a new understanding, Stars Hollow throws a huge graduation party for Rory, and CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour guest stars (finally!)

The following night (May 16th) America’s Next Top Model will be crowned, and May 17th is the Smallville season finale: Lana (Kristin Kreuk) tell Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) their marriage is over, and Clark (Tom Welling) goes after Lionel (John Glover) when he discovers the real reason Lana agreed to marry Lex. Also, part two and season finale of Supernatural.

May 22nd brings either the season or series (say it isn’t so!) finale of Veronica Mars. A two-hour episode where Veronica (Kristen Bell) must confront her feelings for Logan (Jason Dohring) . (The episode is titled “The Bitch is Back,” heh heh.)

And looking way into the future is the season finale of One Tree Hill. No confirmation yet on whether the show will fast forward five years if it is picked up. However, rumor has it that Veronica Mars will most likely do that if it is picked up, and will feature Veronica at the FBI Training Academy. No word yet on whether the supporting cast would go with her.
