Monday night was full with the Dancing with the Stars season premiere and the series premiere of ABC's crime drama, Castle.

Castle stars Nathan Fillion as mystery novelist Richard Castle, who begins working with the NYPD after someone begins copycatting the murders in his books. Also, DWTS began with the Cha Cha Cha and the Waltz.

Dancing with the Stars, "801"

Lil' Kim (rapper) and Derek were first to perform. They performed the cha cha cha and scored a 21. The judges said they did good overall.

Belinda Carlisle (singer) and Jonathon performed the waltz. They scored a 17, and the judges told Belinda she did alright but really needs to trust her partner.

Lawrence Taylor (football player) and Edyta performed the cha cha cha. They received a 16, and the judges said Lawrence needs to loosen up.

Steve-O (reality star) and Lacey performed the waltz. The judges gave them a 17 and said that while Steve-O wasn’t technically great he was very committed to the dance.

Gilles Marini (actor) and Cheryl performed the cha cha cha. The judges loved them and said they have a lot of potential. They gave them a score of 24.

Chuck Wicks (country singer) and Julianne danced the waltz. The judges thought at times Chuck needed to calm down, but they gave them a 20. The judges did however say that Chuck was one of the most graceful men they’ve ever had on the show.

Holly Madison (reality star) and Dmitry performed the cha cha cha. The judges gave them an 18 and said that they’re a little rough now but there is hope.

Ty Murray (rodeo athlete) and Chelsie performed the cha cha cha. The judges said it was good Ty let go, but he really needs work, and they gave them a 14.

Shawn Johnson (Olympic gymnast) and Mark performed the waltz. They received a score of 23, and the judges said that Shawn is dynamic, elegant and graceful.

Steve Wozniak (Apple co-founder) and Karina performed the cha cha cha. The judges gave them a 13 and said Steve was a disaster.

David Alan Grier (actor) and Kym performed the waltz. The judges said they had a few technical issues and gave them a 19.

Denise Richards (actress) and Maks performed the cha cha cha. The judges said Denise looked terrified and gave them an 18.

Lastly, Melissa Rycroft (“The Bachelor”) and Tony performed the waltz. The judges said Melissa was wonderful and like a beautiful bird. They gave the couple a 23.

Castle, "Flowers for Your Grave"

The audience meets Richard at his book launch party. He is a huge celebrity, especially for an author. His fun is put on hold though when Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), an NYPD detective, shows up to question him about the murders in his book. Richard begins helping the NYPD solve the crime, but he does a lot more butting in than helping. His mind works differently than Kate’s, and he has a hard time, at first, convincing her that the man they have arrested for the three murders is not the killer.

Eventually, she realizes that the murders don’t follow a real pattern, so only one of the murders must have been motive-related, the rest must be cover ups. After learning that the main victim’s wealthy father is dying, suspicions turn to the brother. Richard and Kate put the pieces together just in time to catch the brother. In the end Richard decides that Kate is going to be the main character for his new books, and he must follow her for research, something she is not thrilled with. This show is smart, funny and only going to get better. I highly recommend it.
