Rob Lowe in, Josh Hopkins out?Rob Lowe is hired on Brothers & Sisters
Rob Lowe has been hired as Kitty's (Calista Flockhart) new love interest on Brothers & Sisters. This doesn't bod well for Josh Hopkins's Warren.
Since I'm such a Josh Hopkins fan, I'm devastated to report that Rob Lowe has been hired as Kitty 's (Calista Flockart) new love interest on Brothers & Sisters. Poor Josh can't seem to catch a break. Cold Case, Pepper Dennis, Vanished, and now Brothers & Sisters - the guy can't get a steady gig. His agent must be kicking himself. Originally hired for a story arc as Warren, Kitty's Democratic foil on the show within a show "Red, White and Blue," Hopkins is in negotiations to perhaps stay full time. But sources tell me that the producers behind the soap have decided to get rid of Kitty and Warren's show, and give Kitty a new job. (Please don't have her work at the family busines Ojai Foods. That story line is way too confusing, and really, what would she do there? PR?) With no show, there is really no reason to have Warren around. (Unless they hire him at Ojai as well. And really, what would he do there? HR? Career Counseling?) Making things worse, Rob Lowe has been hired for a six episode arc as a Republican senator running for re-election. The good news is that he has not been hired as a cast member. The bad news is that his 6 episodes may be extended. Perhaps to full time cast member? Say it isn't so. I have nothing against Rob Lowe per se. But this cast already has plenty of "name" actors, and it was nice to see a TV staple like Josh Hopkins acting among the elite. The show doesn't need Lowe's name value, and when it comes at the expense of my favorite go-to guy, that really disapoints me. Memo to Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of Cold Case: Looks like Lily's best love interest will soon be available.
