ABC's hit show, Lost, provides fast- paced entertainment, leading to a climatic finale airing May 29th.
With only a two-hour season finale remaining, Lost fans are left with more questions than ever. Devoted viewers from coast to coast wait with bated breath to learn Jacob’s identity, why there are only six survivors, and how does Jack keep his hair cut so short. Flash Forward“There’s No Place Like Home,” the first episode of a three part arc concluding in two weeks, provided fans with a bounty of details. The episode opened to a flash-forward of the Oceanic Six arriving by plane to a press conference. In the brief question and answer, the survivors succeeded in weaving lies to protect the innocent, or the guilty. Jack described his impression of the plane crashing into the ocean, which is a stretch of the truth since his half of the plane crashed on the island. He told the tale of the survivors drifting in the water for over a day, and finally arriving at the shore with only eight remaining. This begs the question, what happened to the other two? During the press conference, a reporter asked Sun if her husband died on the island. She paused, possibly debating an answer, and said, “He never made it off the plane.” Does her hesitation reveal a clue to the fate of the other survivors of Oceanic 815? The Orchid“There’s No Place Like Home” also revealed the Orchid, a greenhouse with magical tools. Ben, Locke and Hurley trudged through the forest on a mission from Jacob to move the island, “a measure of last resort”. Ben explained that the Orchid holds the key to their task. Meanwhile, the men who killed Ben’s daughter were waiting at this very destination to seize Ben and kill his companions. In the end, Ben chose to surrender, creating a diversion, which provided Locke with the opportunity to complete their assignment. Jack’s SisterAlthough we have known for some time that Claire Littleton is Jack’s sister, he did not discover the truth until his father’s funeral. Claire’s mother, previously a comatose patient, revealed that Jack’s father was visiting her in Australia when he died. Then she dropped the bomb that Claire was Jack’s half sister. Jack struggled to gain composure, so as not to stumble over the lies he had created. According to the survivors’ stories, Claire died in the crash and never made it to shore, thus meaning that Jack and Claire never met. It was hard to miss the irony when Claire’s mother walked past Aaron, oblivious to his identity. Finale“There’s No Place Like Home” ended with Kate and Sayid taken prisoners by Richard and his band of “others.” It is hard to imagine where the finale will take these characters. Will Locke succeed in saving the island? Will the remaining survivors be killed? Why is Claire padding through the woods with a ghost? Fans hope that the finale will answer these questions, and more. But never fear, a fresh dose of mystery will always be provided with this thrilling ABC show.
