Did the JonBenet detectives borrow their storyline from Veronica Mars?
I can't take credit for this theory. No, that goes to my ongoing Veronica Mars nemesis Scott Widney, who pointed out some eerie similiaries between the arrest of John Mark Karr for the JonBenet Ramsey murder, and the murder of Lily Kane in the UPN/CW drama. Widney points out that Karr was about to go down on molestation charges in Thailand (a rather terrifying prospect) and then suddenly gave a full confession that he murdered JonBenet. In Veronica Mars cancer-suffering Abel Koontz came out of nowhere to confess that he killed Lily Kane. The only thing tying him to Lily's murder was a pair of bloody shoes found on his houseboat that were spotted in a crime scene photo. He had absolutely no motive, and his confession never made sense. He was clearly the Kane's patsy (so to speak). Like Koontz's confession, Karr's claim just doesnt add up. He says he drugged and killed Jon Benet, but the autopsy showed no drugs or alcohol in her system; plus Karr's ex-wife says that he was in Atlanta with her the night of JonBenet's murder. Rumor has it that Karr once worked for Ramsey at one of his companies too - just like Veronica Mars fall guy Abel Koonz. And let's not forget that the Ramseys' son, who was 9 at the time of the murder and questioned for six hours on one occasion, recently turned 18, and would therefore no longer be considered a juvenile if charged. I always knew Duncan did it.
