Legendary Artists Perform for 25th Anniversary of Music Museum

HBO is airing a four hour special program about the two night concert held at Madison Square Garden celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame turned 25 in 2009 so they held a concert in Madison Square Garden to celebrate. Some of the top acts in Rock and Roll joined the celebratory rock concert, which was filmed by HBO for an upcoming special episode. The musical event is entertainment that fans of rock and roll and its history will want see and hear. Instead of having to buy tickets for a live concert, viewers can enjoy the next best thing, legendary rock musicians in concert on television.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009 with a two night concert held October 29 and 30, 2009. HBO is debuting a special broadcast of the musical event, with featured legends of Rock and Roll, on Thanksgiving weekend. The debut of the HBO special is November 29, 2009.

Performers at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Anniversary Concert

The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert features legendary rock performers including Stevie Wonder, U2, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Simon and Garfunkel, Metallica, Aretha Franklin, Crosby, Stills and Nash and the Jeff Beck Band.

Guest performers include James Taylor, Sting, Patti Smith, Smokey Robinson, Lou Reed, Bonnie Raitt, Ozzy Osbourne, Tome Morello, Sam Moore, Darlene Love, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Jerry Lee Lewis, Annie Lennox, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger, Buddy Guy, John Fogerty, Dion, Ray Davies, Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, B.B. King and Black Eyed Pease.

The two live concerts at Madison Square Garden feature two entirely different lineups of talent. Artists perform their own music and music that inspired them. The concert event traces the genres of rock music, ranging from soul music to hard rock.

In the press release from HBO, Nancy Geller, the senior vice president of entertainment noted, “The live concerts promise to be the biggest collection of rock and roll talent at one time ever, and we're honored to be able to share this magical happening with our subscribers,”

The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert will feature the highlights from two evenings of concerts. The rock artists overseeing different segments of the event are joined by special guest stars to create unique performances in Madison Square Garden.
