Fox has announced that the second season of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse series will now premier September 25 200 at 9 PM ET/PT while Glee's premier is set for September 18.
Dollhouse had a popular first season and is returning for season number two, and the highly anticipated Glee gets slotted on the Fox schedule. DollhouseFrom the Fox Television press release, “In Dollhouse, Eliza Dushku stars as Echo” an “Active” in a highly illegal and underground group of individuals whose personalities have been wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Confined between missions to a secret facility known as the “Dollhouse,” the Actives are hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected to wholly become – with mind, personality and physiology – whomever the client wants or needs them to be. Whether imprinted to be a lover, an assassin, a corporate negotiator or a best friend, the Actives know no other life than the specific engagements they are in at that time – or do they?” The creator and executive producer of Dollhouse, Joss Wedon, wrote and directed the series premier episode. Wedon is the creator of the cult favorites Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Dollhouse is on the road to cult status as well. Besides Eliza Dushku, the show also stars Tahmoh Penikett, Olivia Williams, Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj. GleeDollhouse was originally scheduled to return on Friday, September 18, however the network has decided to air an encore of their new series Glee in that timeslot. Glee aired last spring with a preview tease for the viewers, who have been anxiously awaiting the new comedy series about a high school glee club. Unlike the singing movie franchise of High School Musical, which has a core fan group of teens and younger, Glee’s demographic is wider with both teens and adults enjoying the series. At least as far as the series premier goes. It looks like it will be a popular series for the Fox network this year. The lineup for September 18 on Fox now begins at 8 PM ET/PT with the series premier of Brothers followed by the season premier of ‘Til Death. Then the encore series premier of Glee completes the night. ‘Til Death Returns‘Til Death returns after a long absence. The comedy about a married couple stars Joely Fisher and Brad Garrett. Originally it focused on one long-married couple and their newlywed neighbors, however over time it has evolved into a show about the older couple, who are not all that old. But they have a fun relationship that continues to amuse viewers every week. With the schedules continually changing, this might not be the final time these shows are set to premier. Everything is fluid in the television industry. However, at this time it looks like this is probably the days and times of these season and series premiers.
