Dark Blue Premiers on TNT July 2009Dylan McDermott and Jerry Bruckheimer Join for a New Cop Show
Dark Blue is the latest television production from Jerry Bruckheimer. It is about a team of cops who live under cover - deep cover.
Dylan McDermott stars in this police drama about a covert team of officers who are not even known to the rest of the department. They are deep, deep undercover and have their own set of rules. Is the Man a Traitor or Just Good at Being Undercover? In the premier episode, when an FBI agent is electrocuted and his body left for dead, the Bureau steps in to find out who did this to one of their own. Lt. Carter Shaw (McDermott) is called in to see if he knows anything about the injured agent or who might have done this to him. While viewing the surveillance tape Shaw recognizes one of his team. Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green) is seen dumping the body, but Shaw is the only one who knows who he is. He asks his other team member Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick) if he thinks Bendis turned on them. Could one of his own actually go over to the other side while on a case? It’s been known to happen, but Shaw isn’t sure if this is what’s going on. Although all signs point to the fact that Bendis is a traitor. Ty Curtis, on the other hand, is a little concerned. He thinks it is possible that Bendis turned. He and Shaw arrange a covert meeting with Bendis which doesn’t help them determine whether he is still on their side or on the side of the mob. In order to help his team, Shaw recruits Jaimie Allen (Nicki Aycox), a police office who wants more than anything to advance in the department. Shaw discovers there are many secrets hiding in her closet, which could make it impossible for any advancement and most likely, if know, she would be fired from the LAPD. Jaimie decides to join the group. Undercover Police Work Need Trust, Strong Bonds, and Reliable CoversThe four team members form a bond. They are the only ones on whom they can rely from now on. They go undercover to catch the bad guys, and they have to know how to keep their cover through all kinds of situations. If they don’t it could mean their death. These cops infiltrate the worst of the worst and their covers are the only thing keeping them alive. This is an interesting series and as the weeks go by, the characters will be better known to the viewers. The premier episode sets the ground work for the remaining season. Jerry Bruckheimer has a good track record with police dramas. The CSI series’ and Without a Trace have proven to be incredibly popular crime dramas. Dark Blue premiers Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 10 PM ET/PT on TNT, immediately following the season premier of Leverage. For information about Leverage, read this article.
